The Cervia Salt Pan Park (Società Parco della Salina di Cervia) was formed on 8 December 2002 by a group of local authorities who became its founding members. These were the Municipality of Cervia, the Province of Ravenna, the Po Delta Park and the Ravenna Chamber of Commerce. It is 92% public and has only one private partner, Cervia Spa (Terme di Cervia).
The company’s purpose is to manage the environmental, cultural and leisure activities for tourism and ecological purposes of the entire Cervia Salt Pan and the surrounding area. To this end, it aims to promote, develop and implement services for tourists, including information, accommodation and hospitality.
Ours is a Sweet Salt. Cervia Sweet Salt is our brand, that which identifies us, but also our product. The history behind both of these is made up of hard work, ideas, and a community that over the decades has managed to unite around its most precious asset—salt—because it represents its identity.
The Cervia Salt Pan is the smallest and northernmost in Italy. It covers 827 hectares in a natural park, now the southern gateway to the Po Delta Regional Park, and has always been a natural breeding and nesting reserve for many animal and plant species.

Cervia Sweet Salt mellows the flavours of cured meats by imparting a sweetness to the meat, without the bitter aftertaste that other salts have.
In the case of dairy products, it intervenes in the maturing process, adding flavour, but without masking the taste of good fresh milk.
